Hailed
as a holiday classic, the Omaha Chamber Singers present a program of
seasonal music with scripture proclamation and assembly singing on the
Third Sunday of Advent. “Gaudete” is Latin for JOY. Liturgically, it is
the name given to the Third Sunday of Advent and is often symbolized
with the rose candle on an Advent wreath. The Sunday celebrates the
great joy in anticipation of the coming of the baby Jesus on Christmas
Day. Guests include the Bel Canto Singers from Omaha Central High School, Kevin Vogt, organist, and Jay Reilly, lector. Presented in the architectually and acoustically stunning church
of St. Vincent de Paul, the event is certain to continue its tradition
as a heart-felt and memorable experience.
